Flagstaff lands two more Auction pitchers

One night after filling their LF spot, the Flagstaff Outlaws landed two more pitchers, signing reliever Ryan Presley to a 17.5M deal over three years and starter pitcher Trevor Richards for a 5M one-year deal.

“Innings, innings, innings,” Outlaws GM Greg Newgard said. “We’ve like what Presley has done and think he is trending upwards, so we took a bigger gamble with the three-year deal. Richards is a gamble of youth and will fill out what will likely be a patchwork rotation.”

The deals leave Flagstaff with 13.8M of cap space left, but they only need seven more players to fill out there roster.

“We feel happy with where we at from a cap standpoint,” Newgard said. “We still need innings, a bench and a 3B, but we like our acquisitions moving forward.”
