Sell-off continues in Flagstaff

The Hot Stove in Flagstaff is blazing hot as Flagstaff announces their third deal and second in two straight days.

“We appreciated the presence and performance that Khris Davis has brought to our lineup in the past two season, but today we have to announce that we’ve dealt him and reliever Kirby Yates to the Ravenswood Infidels,” Outlaws GM Greg Newgard said during a press conference at Purina Park.

“We’ve been able to add more youth, this time in the electric arm of Michael Kopech and a young outfielder in Trevor Larnach. We’re also taking on a probably salary dump in Brad Miller, although he could play a role in our middle infield next season.”

With this deal, the Outlaw farm is nearly full and they’ve managed to trim off nearly another 5M from their cap.

“It’s not all about moving salary, but it doesn’t hurt. We’re north of 30M free going into the auction and draft, which is almost 50% of our total cap. We’ve got 23 players slated for the 35-man roster, so we’ll be able to have a lot of flexibility on how we fill those spots.”
