Sale lands Pitcher of the Chapter Award from BDBL HQ

The trade for him created a stir around the BDBL during last offseason. He earned 75% of the votes to start on the mound after this year’s BDBL All-Star Game. He’s broken or will break almost every single-season pitching record in Outlaws franchise history when the regular season ends. And now he adds another accolade to this year’s resume.

Chris Sale was named as the Ozzie League Pitcher of the Chapter.

Flagstaff ace Chris Sale is leading the Ozzie League in just about every category. He has already notched his third-straight 20-win season at 21-3, he leads the league in strikeouts (290), and his 2.56 ERA currently ranks fourth in the OL. With all of those accomplishments, it’s difficult to believe he’s yet to win the OL Pitcher of the Chapter award this year. Let’s fix that right now. Sale led the OL with a perfect 6-0 record in Chapter Five. He also led the league with 61 K’s, posted a 2.72 ERA, and held opponents to a .183/.214/.333 batting line.

Sale has gone 9-0 in 12 starts since the All-Star Game appearance, striking out 107 batters over 75 2/3 innings. He’s scheduled for seven more starts over the final chapter of the year, hoping to pad his resume toward Cy Young consideration., which if he won, would be his second in a row and third in four seasons.
