Flagstaff adds two players in free agent draft

The Flagstaff Outlaws continue to push toward the 2018 playoffs, but they made two moves today with an eye on 2019.

The trade to acquire Bryan Shaw left the Outlaws with an empty roster spot, so they acquired reliever Jordan Lyles. In addition, the Outlaws finally released for top prospect Aaron Blair in exchange for catcher John Ryan Murphy.

“It’s never too early to plan for 2019, as long as we aren’t hurting 2018,” Outlaws GM Greg Newgard said. “These two players could be important pieces to next year’s team, so we’ll take a shot here.”
